Holiday Blues?

This post by Cindy Dawson is just what I needed to read right now. ❤

Real Christian Women

Do the holidays trigger thoughts of what should have been instead of what is? Are you feeling lonely? The strange thing about depression is that it seems to take your mind captive. You may think you can’t stop the downward spiral.

The next thing you know, you’re driving to the grocery to buy food for the holidays and tears begin to well up in your eyes. You hate it. You don’t want to be sad!

I know all about it because I experienced this one day.

I prayed. I asked the Lord to help me.

Just a few minutes later, my daughter called. (You should know, she loves to cook. I mean really cook, like they do on TV Cooking Shows. I, on the other hand, look for the easiest and quickest recipe possible.)

Christina: “Mom, would you get me a butternut squash while you’re at the store?”

I’ve found that embracing having been made a fully sanctified saint who’s the righteousness of God pretty much eliminates depression.

Have ya’ll tried that? (speaking to Christians)

Oh… I just wrote a very long, detailed reply to your comment here. Then I accidentally hit the wrong tab on my tablet and it has disappeared! I need to pray and regroup. I will try again in a bt.

I don’t understand why my comments aren’t showing up.

Sorry Lee, I have been busy doing other things today. I have my blog set so that I have to approve all comments before they will post. That’s because I had a scary online stalker several years ago. He would post the craziest, scary things. He is deceased now but I still like the extra protection. God bless!
