Merry December!

Can you believe this year is almost gone? Time flies when you’re having fun. 😀

This is my hubby and me, Christmas 2005. We don’t ride anymore. But we made some beautiful memories when we did!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I haven’t been blogging lately because my memoir writing is using up most of my free time and energy. That, plus some unexpected PTSD trauma triggers have recently happened in my life. But I’m working on it. Doing a lot of praying, Bible reading, and fast and furious riding on my stationary bike. I do six miles, most days. Plus I run in the yard with our three rescue dogs. Fun!

Meanwhile, I pray that everyone who reads this will be super blessed this month. Thank you so much for stopping by. I love my awesome blogger friends. ❤

You and Your Husband look so adorable Linda ❤️🎅

I was thinking of asking you about your Memoir since few days as I am so eager to read it. Yesterday I was even checking your old blog post where your book image was there. When your Memoir is coming my dear?

Hello, dear Kavya! I wish I could give you a better answer, but my memoir is still far from finished. My best guess is that it may be another year, at least, before it will be ready to publish. I have worked so hard on it, for so many years already. It is a very tough job!

Thank you! I’m trying not to tear my hair out. I don’t have to tell you what a tough job it is to write a memoir!

It’s not easy to give up. We stopped riding after my husband’s last bad accident. It’s a miracle he survived. Even then, he almost lost his right leg, while he was in the ICU. Somebody who didn’t know how to drive pulled right out in front of him, when he was doing 75 mph on the interstate.

Nice bike. My husband and I still ride, but not as much as we used to before Covid. May the Lord bless and keep you.

Thank you. I just said a prayer for you and your husband’s safety when you ride. Every time I see a biker, I pray for their safety, and I thank God again for saving my husband so many times when he was riding.

One day, a large male deer with a big rack ran into the road as my husband was riding his bike up a hill and around a blind corner. The deer jumped over my husband, leaving a deep scratch across the top of his helmet. My husband didn’t go down and he wasn’t even injured.

Every time I drive past the place where that happened, I thank God!

Thank you. We’ve also had many close calls A blow out of our back tire o the freeway comes to mind. We walked away with roadrash. My husband is a local pastor. Our church started aaaaas an outreach to the biker community. I believe the Lord has watched over us in many situations. My husband has had the same leg broken twice in separate motorcycle accidents.

Mine is also a Chaplin for our county ABATE group. The guy who first asked him if he wanted to have a church service at events now goes to our church. It took twenty years to get him there.

Thank you, precious Mandy. I was just about to reply to your comment under my comment on your post, when our newest rescue dog needed out NOW. I have to go out with her, because after being abandoned, she is afraid to go in our fenced yard alone. When I brought her back in, the other two needed out, and with our rescued poodle it’s the same thing, he is afraid to go outside without me. When he was finally ready to come in, it was time to wake my husband up for his medicine.

After all of that, I forgot that I hadn’t answered your comment. I will go do that now… just as soon as I make myself a mug of tea. 😀

Aw, thank you. We look quite a bit older now. My hair is still very long but now it’s all gray.

Thinking philosophically, how can you ride six miles on a stationary bike? Yes, I know what you mean. My mind went down a rabbit hole on that one. You are always in my prayers.

Listen, I can go thousands of miles just in my head sometimes. Rabbit holes, indeed!

I recently bought an exercise bike for my daughter’s birthday. She is a therapist, does a lot of sit down work, and had told me she was thinking of getting a stationary bike to keep in her office to use between clients. FedEx delivered it to her home, after first taking it all over the country and back again. I figured up the miles that her stationary bike traveled on the FedEx truck — it came to over 5,000 miles!

That made me curious, so I figured out how long it would take to go that far on the stationary bike, at the rate of 6 miles per day. I was shocked to discover that I have probably already done at least 6,000 miles on my bike, since I started using it regularly in 2018. Whew! How’s that for a rabbit hole, lol?

I appreciate your prayers so very much. I’m praying for you and your wife, as well.

Linda, I’m really sorry about the triggers. I’ve probably told you before that PTSD was my specialty when I was working. It’s a tough path to walk. Praying for you.

Thank you so much. I had about 30 neurofeedback treatments in 2017, which almost seemed to cure my PTSD. But things have happened since then, which seem to have set me back to a small degree. If the NFT wasn’t so expensive, I would go have some more.

I never learned to do NFT, but I did do EMDR with a high level of success.

That’s great. My husband, a Vietnam combat veteran, is having EMDR treatment. It’s made a world of difference for him.

My daughter, who lives in Washington State, became a licensed therapist a couple of years ago. She was so impressed by the positive changes she saw in me after my neurofeedback, that she took some courses and now NFT is her specialty.

So glad EMDR has helped your husband. And kudos to your daughter. No question that NFT is effective.

God bless you, Linda, for persevering with your memoir. Not only must it be taxing from a writing point-of-view, but from an emotional standpoint also, as you relive your life through the memories. You are a strong, tenacious woman! Your story will no doubt minister HOPE to many who suffer from PSTD.

Proud of you for trudging through your memoir. I’m sure it’s hard to visit those dark places, but with God’s help, you will finish strong in the end. I’ve heard so many say that their memoirs were part of their healing. Merry Christmas!
