Last summer, my husband and I were driving out in the country and we saw where the electrical company had recently put in a new line of utility poles. On a farm we drove past, a goat was head butting one of the new poles, over and over again. He would back up, take a run at the big wooden pole, slam his head into it as hard as he could, then back up and do it again. Ouch, it makes my head hurt just thinking about it!

It didn’t seem to hurt him, though. Didn’t seem to hurt the pole, either! Yes, being a goat could be fun. Blessings to you too.

Not so sure about being a goat . . . maybe I’d choose to be a bee: able to fly, lots of friends back at the hive, enjoy the flowers, AND sting a few people who could use a wake-up call! (If only there was a way to leave the stung persons written messages as to why they deserved a stinger.) Not very Christian, I suppose–just expressing my emotions like the psalmists used to do when they’d ask God to slay the wicked! P.S. I trust you’re feeling better after your bout with Covid?

A bee… I like that. But you’ll need to stay away from us. My daughter, my stepdaughter, and my husband all have anaphylactic shock reactions to bee stings. They all carry epipens, too.

Yes, I am getting stronger every day. Actually felt well enough to do a load of laundry again this morning. Many days I haven’t felt up to it.

However, today has been an incredibly challenging day. Whew. So many things have happened in our little world today. The hardest one by far: a USMC veteran friend of my husband’s, whom he had talked to over the phone several times in the past few months, committed suicide last night. I talked with the widow on the phone today. Didn’t have a clue what to say, but I prayed first, asking for guidance, and I felt like the Lord gave me the words. My husband is a chaplain and the widow asked him to officiate at the funeral this coming Monday. I told her we will be there. It’s so sad. He was 48, she is 43, they were married less than 4 years ago. I don’t use real names on my blog, but please pray for the widow, her initials are A.R. Thank you. ❀
