No kidding. 😎 Hey I published my first blog. It’s a little rough around the edges, but at least I tried….a 3 hour cruise! I have alot to learn. Nighty night.
I did that all the time, when I was a kid playing outdoors in the hot summer months. Did you ever try to catch a drink with your mouth from one of those whirling lawn sprinklers? I tried, but mostly got drenched. Still, it was fun!
Lol! Loved those sprinklers…On another note, my mom wouldn’t let us kids chew gum, except around Halloween of course (loved those pink bubblegum cigars). She would only give us parafin wax to chew. So whenever I saw an already chewed, spit out piece of chewing gum on the ground, I would pick it up, wash it off with the garden hose water, tried to get out as much dirt out as possible, and popped it in my mouth and voila! I had chewing gum, and I’m still alive to this day. Mom never new. Tee hee hee….😉
Ah yes, those were the days! Of course we drank from the hose and ran barefoot all summer. We played outside with nothing all the time, “tag! You’re it!” Sometimes we covered dog doo with grass and leaves to see who would run into it! 😄 I know, gross!
That is too funny Lisa Beth. We lived on a dead end private road with a few kids of various ages, just enough to play our games. We had a huge turnaround in front of our house where we would play tag, kick the can, red light green light, mother may I, cops and robbers, went rollerskating with steel skates down a steep roads, until we heard the dinner alarm- the moms call “dinner time”! Then we’d go back out after dinner and play hide n seek until dark.
Living in Seattle in the 50’s and early 60’s was a blast. Daylight was up to at least 9:30pm until dusk.We had real fireworks and the whole kitten-kaboodle during the 4th! So much fun.
Wow! Same on east coast – “we would play tag, kick the can, red light green light, mother may I, cops and robbers, went rollerskating with steel skates down a steep roads, until we heard the dinner alarm- the moms call “dinner time”” !! Also Red Rover! 😃
Thanks for memories…

Yep, and we also drank right out of the hose… which was disgusting if you didn’t let it run long enough to be cold.
