I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

I am happy and thrilled to bits for my American friends over the pond.

I’m just glad that God is on His throne forever, regardless of who is in the White House!

The fat lady has not officially sung yet. Votes are still being counted, law suits have not been settled, and investigations into the corruption has not been completed. Don’t give up yet, God isn’t finished.

I amended the title of this blog post slightly, after reading your and Bonnie Roerdink’s comments. I seriously just want the Lord’s will, whatever that may be. And I don’t presume to know what that is, because I am not that wise.
My late uncle was President Emeritus of a college in Delaware. He and my late aunt were acquaintances of the Bidens, as they ran in the same social circle. Oh how I wish they were here to share their thoughts with me today! As I recall, they weren’t fans. But, as my uncle was also a church pastor, I know he would agree with my prayer for God’s will above all.

Hearts being changed is what matters, in my opinion. Not man’s laws, legislation, or who is in the White House. Change in my life only happened when I allowed the Lord Jesus Christ to change my heart. A group of loving, kind, respectful, sweet Christians finally convinced me that Christianity is true. Because, as the word of God says, they will know we are Christians by our love. Not by our arguments, our love. I am praying today for the Lord Jesus to pour out His Love and His peace that passes understanding, on His people today. My life was ruined, my life was over — until I was saved, not by a president or a congress or senate, not by legislation — I was set free and saved by Christ’s LOVE!

Election results are being contested and possible fraud exists so we must patiently await for illegal ballots to be cast out. The President has 45 days to pursue a righteous election and isn’t that what we all want?

What I want is God’s will, whatever that may be.

I don’t pretend to understand all the ends and outs of this stuff, politics most definitely not being my area. There are so many voices saying so many things right now and, as per usual, so many insisting they are the ones in the right. For me, it becomes hard to sort out. I pray truth wins the day whatever it may be, and, like you, all I want to see is the Lord’s will, which never fails to be for our ultimate good.

I think the title of your post reflects the uneasiness many of us are still feeling. And the Scripture from Isaiah reflects the peace and trust we need to hold onto, no matter what.

Yes! Amen!
A lovely Christian friend sent me a text saying that she keeps thinking about when Jesus said “My kingdom is not of this world.” I looked it up, and those words are found in John 18:36.
It really doesn’t make any sense to get bent out of shape over a political election, does it?

I’m with you, Renee! As I read your comment just now, this scripture came to my mind:
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The needs in our nation our great. Paramount among them, perhaps, is that truth be revealed and those perpetrating lies be silenced. We cannot survive as a democracy in such a divisive–and too often violent–climate as has taken over much of the country. May God grant wisdom, discernment, and pure motives to our leaders in order to bring us back from the brink of disaster.

Amen. The Truth will set us free. Even when it hurts, we can’t deal with reality until we know what is real. ❤
