Six days ago, on Sunday, August 9, I posted a prayer request for my daughter, her boyfriend, and the boyfriend’s father and stepmother. The father and stepmother had both tested positive for covid-19, and the father was in ICU, on a ventilator. My daughter and her boyfriend had potentially been exposed to the coronavirus when they attended a birthday party for his stepmom, two days before she and her husband tested positive.
As I said in my last post, dated August 10, the test for my daughter and her boyfriend came back negative, for which I am deeply grateful.
Today we got the sad news that my daughter’s boyfriend’s father has died. I met him three years ago when I was visiting my daughter in Washington. I did not get to know him well, but this loss hurts my heart. Two deaths in one family in less than a week. One death was definitely due to covid-19, and the other — the death of my aunt on Monday — may have been hastened by covid. She was in a nursing home when she suddenly took a turn for the worse and died, and the nursing homes here have been very hard hit by this pandemic.
Thank you, everyone, for your prayers. Please be safe. Please tell your loved ones how much you love them, while you still can. Be blessed.
Sorry for your loss, continued prayers for you, your daughter and her boyfriends family.

I’m so sorry, Linda, but happy to hear the good news about your daughter and her boyfriend. I’ve seen a lot of friends pass lately – partly because of this disease, partly because of age. I’m grateful to know that they are in heaven and away from all the trials this earth has to offer. My prayers continue for you.

Oh no, that’s painfully sad. I’m so sorry. Two deaths in your family is two too many. We’ve had a lot of deaths, circa 20,000 actually, in care homes in the UK. As you say, it could be directly or indirectly because of coronavirus, but it never should have been allowed to happen. I know it sounds rather empty and useless, but I really am sorry about your daughter’s boyfriend’s father. I really hope the others that have tested positive remain okay, without any complications, and that the rest of you stay as safe as possible. Sending love 🌹
