How do you figure?

I’m sure I had this look on my face yesterday afternoon. I was working in our back yard, enjoying the peace and quiet of our small, sleepy town, when suddenly I heard what sounded like dozens of sirens. I saw several state police vehicles and two ambulances fly around a corner into the street directly behind our house, and stop about half a block away. I called my husband and asked him to join me in praying for whatever was going on. Moments later, I heard the sound of a single gunshot.

I still don’t know what happened. We are living in crazy times. I am so grateful for my faith in the Lord Jesus! During my agnostic atheist years, I could barely handle normal life with my PTSD. But now, despite all the craziness in the news and the profound changes in all our lives, I feel peace in my soul 99% of the time — although my face may occasionally look a little weird. 😁

When you believe in His promise that He’s with you always, He is. There’s so much going on all around our little blue ball these days; we need something (someone) to keep us from going totally bonkers. Jesus is that something (someone).

I have had such an incredible amazing peace in all of this that’s been going on!
We can look at this two ways.
    1. The world is falling apart.
    2. Things are coming together as we are in the last days.
I would say BOTH views are correct! The world IS spiralling downward into sin, but OUR GOD is in control!!! Nothing is happening apart from His will!! These things MUST happen ! And, as believers, for us it means that we are that much closer to the return of our Savior!! I can honestly say that while I have mourned the loss of life and the condition of our country, I have been like a kid waiting for Christmas when it comes to thinking about the Lord’s return! (Lk 21:28)
It’s almost like I should feel “guilty” for being at such peace! I know it’s HIS peace that passes all understanding!! Where would we be without Jesus??? The world is falling apart, but it needs to be that way. Sin will rule the day for its season. And it drives me to resolve to live MORE for Jesus, AND to share His truth as much as possible!! “Behold, I come quickly,” He said. (Rev 22:7) Let us look up, while remaining busy about sharing the Gospel.

I too have been making that face a lot. Early in the morning and late at night I hear sirens all the time. I have been hearing more gun shots too and this month there was actually a drive by in our peaceful little middle class neighborhood that never had problems before. Such weird times but there is a peace in me as well, knowing that God is right here with me at all times, right by my side, as he is with all his children. Lots of praying going on at Our Little Red House. Stay safe, you and your family as I know you are. God bless you and yours as well.
